John Rettie
Cartmell John Alexander Rettie (born November 24, 1925 in Colombo, Ceylon), known as John Rettie was a British newspaper journalist and broadcaster. While working for Reuters in the Soviet capital, Moscow, in 1956, he brought back details of Nikita Khrushchev's Secret Speech to the Kremlin denouncing the crimes of Stalin.〔(The secret speech that changed world history )〕 In his near 50-year career he reported for The Guardian, Reuters, and the BBC World Service, covering some of the most critical events of the Cold War from the Soviet Union and Latin America.
